Savannah Cade

While studying Political Science, Journalism, Political Communications, and Civics at UNC Chapel Hill, Savannah has spent her academic career doing more than studying political communication; she’s worked directly with it.

As a Press Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives, she saw firsthand how policy gets shaped and effectively communicated. As an intern at the Carolina Journal, she learned how to hold that process accountable through sharp, informed writing. This summer, she is learning how to communicate effectively with diverse audiences as a Paralegal intern at McIntyre Elder Law.

Her multi-faceted fluency in media and policy is exactly what makes Savannah an exceptional Civic Media Specialist. She believes the gap between institutions and the people they serve is, at its core, a communication problem, and she’s dedicated her work to solving it.
