Lupton Abshire

Lupton brings a wide range of education, expertise, and experience to this enterprise. An undergraduate degree in business management, specializing in organizational development. Four years with a NYC-based conglomerate. A Master of Divinity degree leading to 25 years as an Episcopal priest serving faith communities across the country, beginning at Christ Church, Georgetown, Washington D.C., where he served ’92–’01. A master’s degree in philosophy, deepening his knowledge of both Western and Eastern traditions.

As a civic entrepreneur, Lupton led four teams of UNC-Chapel Hill student interns, conducting public policy research projects focused on e-government & digital democracy in Eastern Europe and Finland; mayors and their challenge of engaging voters at mass-scale; and innovating voter engagement at the Congressional level.

Lupton is a long-time student & practitioner of Theory U, a change management and organizational learning framework, which he aspires to apply to the renewal of politics.
